As a fixture on the capital’s clubbing scene since 2003, Egg London clocks up a heady decade of activity with a full month of shows all set to showcase the stunning variety of the club’s musical output. Lasting twelve months in the modern clubbing landscape is an accolade worthy of renown, so making ten of those timeframes, in the most hypercompetitive city on the planet, is one certainly worth doffing your cap towards – May 2013 will be a month that rightfully basks in that achievement.

With the venue undergoing refurbishment, Egg London will be transforming the cavernous and intimate surroundings with extended dancefloors, re-jigged smoking areas and world class sound systems building on the venue’s endearing qualities. Circus themselves hit the same figure last year, and consequently has pulled together a world first to crown the accolade – all night long set from Laurent Garnier and Yousef.

Arguably the most loved of all the guests to play at Circus in its litany of residencies over the years, Garnier rightfully remains revered across the full spectrum of dance music. He retired his LBS project last year at both Circus Liverpool and London, and his history of extended sets for Circus stretches as far back as 2004 and numbers several epoch defining moments. Special occasions call for special measures, and few can match Laurent’s ability to bring poignancy and emotion to the forefront via his extended journeys through sound.

In fact only one man has been capable of doing that at Circus consistently – Yousef. Like Laurent he too has commanded the attention of the Circus dancefloor for the entire evening on numerous occasions, joyous excursions through every facet of house and techno for a fully panoramic insight into not only his musical personality, but that of the club itself.

Indeed the two have been part of the more endearing memories of the Circus aural history, Yousef dropping Giorgio Moroder and Phil Oakey’s ‘Electric Dreams to end a five hour set to a sea of smiles in the Theatre of the Masque, Garnier cavorting through an impromptu Nirvana tribute on the ten year anniversary of Kurt Cobain’s death. Both posses that element of unpredictability and innate understanding of the magic of music to deliver a truly mouth-watering, Circus styled, tribute to Egg London on their monumental achievement.

Feel My Bicep x Oval Space Music. Metro Area x Bicep x Optimo. Saturday, May 25th. @ Oval Space, 29 - 32 The Oval, London, E2 9DY, 10pm - 6am

Oval Space Music invite this year’s most popular duo Feel My Bicep to host Glasgow’s DJ duo Optimo and Brooklyn genre bending masters, Metro Area Live.

The brainchild of veteran producers Morgan Geist and Darshan Jesrani, Metro Area was born out of the duo's dichotomous love of both the old moods of R&B, disco and boogie and the more cutting-edge sound of innovative house and techno. Bursting onto the scene in 1999 with their self-titled debut 12" featuring the cult smash "Atmosphrique", and have since been pleasing our ears with releases on Environ, Tiger Sushi and fabric.

A staple within the scene for over 15 years, DJ duo Twitch & JG Wilkes, aka Optimo, both started out playing different music; Twitch – electro, noisy rock and the eighties New York punk funk of Liquid (from who they borrowed their name) and Wiles reggae, funk and jazz. From performing as spate entities for 10 years, to hosting their Sunday Optimo residence at Sub Club in Glasgow every weekend for 13 years straight.

One of this year’s most popular DJ duos has without a doubt been Bicep, AKA Belfast boys Andy Ferguson and Matt McBriar. The depth of their musical knowledge has stood them in good stead, providing the fuel for some really great DJ sets as well as their musical productions. Brought together through a common obsession with all things analog, their blog, ‘Feel My Bicep’, has grown to be the first port of call for those searching for cutting-edge and hard-to-find disco and it's a pleasure to have them host this very special line up with us.

Wiggle's 19th Birthday Party. Terry Francis, Nathan Coles, Eddie Richards. Saturday, May 25th. @ Paramount, Centre Point, 103 New Oxford Street, W1, 11pm - 7am

The three amigos, Terry, Nathan and Eddie.. will be joined by Rob Collman and another very special guest on the evening and more news to come on them down the line.

Rob Collman (Alienation, Submerge)

Ever since he won Muzik Magazine's DJ competition in the mid 90's, Rob has been wowing crowds with his impeccable mixing skills. He’s one of the founders of Alienation and therefore a forefather of the underground deep house meets techno circuit. He was a regular guest at Stereo Studio in Croatia and he’s been grooving up the radio waves on Electric Lion and Groovesite, Croatia. A rock-solid regular behind the decks at all the parties that really matter, you can hear him for yourself here.

Ketoloco. Todd Terje, Audiojack, Droog, Hunter/Game, Mark Henning. Sunday, May 26th. @ The Sidings, 51-53 Southwark Street, SE1, 10pm - 6am

After the unrivalled vibes of the last gathering, Ketoloco are happy to announce their next event is to be held at the three-roomed space of The Sidings Warehouse. It also happens to be one of Ketoloco's biggest yet with sets from Todd Terje, Audiojack, Droog, Mark Henning, Tapesh and more on Sunday May 26th.

If you were at Cable last time out you will remember the sit-downs during Solomon’s set, the killer sound system, the full and colourful dancefloor and the fact it was all sold out weeks in advance. Well for this next session, all three rooms of The Sidings will be used so the 'Loco crew can fully stretch their wings across the blank canvas that is the club. So too will they be bringing in meaty Funktion One stacks and high end lighting rigs for added oomph… cos that’s how they roll. And so to the diverse line up that touches on many different shades of house, disco and tech from across the scene.

There are few artists who embody nu disco and edit culture as wholly as Norwegian Todd Terje. In recent years he’s grown to become a superstar in his own right with highly sought after, genre defining releases like The Arps, Ragysh and Inspector Norse coming on a range of seminal labels. Terje gets more out of his machines, makes brighter colours and more infectious grooves than any of his peers and as a DJ spans eras, epochs and genres with a learned skill.

Up next, Leeds’ finest makers of dance floor dynamite, Audiojack, were the first ever act to play the original basements parties back in Headingly so are welcome guests for this event, and given ‘Loco’s championing of Diynamic artists over the years it no surprise this time out they have newbies Hunter/Game playing. Finishing off the main room line-up is deep-disco spinner Phil Dudman.

Meanwhile in the second room, inimitable slow and sexy house trio Droog headline and will no doubt champion the sorts of emotive sounds which have made their LA label Culprit the hot property it is in 2013. Also playing is Soma and Clink’s trusty tech house craftsmen Mark Henning – whose ‘Trojan’ tune has been an enduring Ketoloco anthem over the past year – as well as the Loco DJs themselves plus ToeJam main man, Adam Saville.

In the cosier third room, brightly emerging promotion Bad Apple take charge with their Bristol brethren Pardon My French, and together their residents play with Get Physical & Noir Music house don Tapesh leading the affray.

There are not many chances to catch such a comprehensive selection of house heads in London, especially somewhere as true to the underground as The Sidings Warehouse, so you don’t want to be sleeping on this one....

DC7. Paco Osuna (Extended Set), Kenny Dope Gonzalez, Supernova. Friday, May 31st. @ Egg, 200 York Way, Kings X, London, N7, 11pm - 8am

The penultimate 10 x 10 party sees a Spanish techno legend take the reigns for ten straight hours on Friday May 31st.

Paco Osuna is one of Spain’s finest electronic exports. Having made a name for himself with a residency at Amnesia over a decade ago, he’s since gone on to play places like Watergate, fabric and Movement Festival, all the while holding down a residency for Barcelona's Club4 night at City Hall. His experience in the studio goes way back, too, with releases on Drumcode and Minus as well as Mindshake – the techno imprint he founded in 2005. The Osuna sound has never strayed too far from the pulsing heart of the dancefloor.

Kenny “DOPE” Gonzalez is one of the most prolific artists of the modern music age. The four time Grammy nominated musical genius has been entertaining and astounding the masses alike with his fusions of house, hip-hop, Latin, jazz, funk & soul, reggae, alternative pop and broken beats for 20 years. Known as a living encyclopedia of beats and tagged with the nickname “DEBO” by his closest friends, Kenny is a purveyor of sonic masterpieces.
Having contributed ten of his favorite tracks to a recent "Stop and Listen" BBE compilation, Gonzalez is about to relaunch his Dope Wax label.

Supernova are Emiliano Nencioni and Giacomo Godi; an Italian DJ and production duo that have over the last decade made the transition from rising stars to established international talent, perhaps best known for their acclaimed and much-discussed collaboration with Kevin Saunderson on 2010’s ‘Beat Me Back’. They achieved their first notable success in 2007 when Sony BMG released their debut album ‘Downtown Underground, which included collaborations from the likes of GrandMaster and Melle Mel).
House giant Defected Records has released a number of the duo’s productions including remixes of seminal records ‘Can You Feel It’ and ‘Strings of Life’ as well as the more recent Cassandra and The Light Goes On EPs.

Fields. Max Cooper, Ghosting Season, The Slow Revolt. Friday, May 31st. @ Dance Tunnel, 95 Kingsland Road; Dalston; London E8 2PB, 9pm - 3am

Part of the FIELDS label upcoming seven date UK + Paris tour, the London show at the amazing new Dance Tunnel will feature released and upcoming label artists Max Cooper, Ghosting Season and The Slow Revolt.

MAX COOPER
One of the UK's most hotly tiped electronic producers, a ResidentAdvisor top 20 live act of 2012 and one of Beatport's Top 10 Artists for that year, Max will release his new single Numb, feat Belleruche's Kathrin DeBoer, on FIELDS on April 29, and will headline the London and Paris dates.

GHOSTING SEASON
Described by TheQuietus as "captivating" and XLR8R as "having production as ominous and haunting as the group's name", Ghosting Season is two Northerners, Thomas Ragsdale and Gavin Miller. Their live show takes a rock axe to the sometimes over-delicate world of electronica, and has been described by The Line Of Best Fit as "a controlled storm that allows little room for mistake or pretense in both themselves and those standing near-aghast at the power of it all."

THE SLOW REVOLT
His first single was the swooning, evocative This Dark Matter on Pavilion, the sister label to Raffertie's label Super - the label that first spotted AlunaGeorge, Throwing Snow and Bondax. Artist Joe Mirza has since been hand-picked to support the recent tour of MMOTHS, described as "stunning" by John Kennedy on XFM and by the Line Of Best Fit as "We fall harder for The Slow Revolt with each listen - you will too".

LOW POP UP presents Pizza. DJ Qu. Friday, May 31st. @ Love & Liquor, 34 Kilburn High Road, NW6 5UA, 10pm - 3am

LOW POP UP presents….PIZZA

A night designed to bring to you the truly upcoming next generation underground DJ’s to an intimate space in the heart of West London.

Expect our residents RAW Prod. Ltd to warm-up the scene in "Battle Mode" with Duel (RAW/Polluted Records) and FrankieDOS (RAW/Ianvs71) performing B2B! Again!!!

….and we are thrilled to welcoming a very special guest for this event…

DJ QU:

The New Jersey based producer and DJ referred to himself as "the dancer's DJ" in Resident Advisor's 2009 feature on the US east coat house renaissance, a self-title honestly earned given his background as a world traveling house dancer through the 90's and resident at New York's esteemed HouseDanceConference. He's been steadily reinforcing that description ever since, with a well-received run of rhythmic, dark, stripped-down productions for his Strength Music imprint launched in 2005 as well as having a rich output in both original and remix work for labels such as Rekids, Desolat and Synchrophone.

On the one and twos, Qu regularly plays at world class venues such as Fabric (UK), Panorama Bar (DE), Space, Ibiza (ES), DC10, Ibiza (ES), Amnesia, Ibiza (ES), Space, Miami (US), Output, New York (US) and Eleven, Tokyo (JP)

pp presents. Horse Meat Disco. Friday, May 31st. @ Plastic People, 147-149 Curtain Road, EC2A 3QE, 10pm - 4am

Now into their eighth year, Horse Meat Disco have continued to lead the way with packed residencies at their HQ at The Eagle in London’s Vauxhall, Lux in Lisbon and with the Tape organisation in Berlin. Inspired by the music and inclusive ethos of New York’s club scene during the ’70s and ’80s, the collective have garnered a unique reputation for amazing parties and unmatchable sets, the quartet of DJs each mixing their own individual quality blend of disco juice with all manner of dancefloor fillers: be it punk funk, italo, house, electric bangers or plain old oddities!

Barbican. Raime. Friday, May 31st. @ LSO St Luke's, 161 Old Street, London EC1V 9NG, from 8pm...

An evening of relentless rhythmic cycles, intricate, shadowy sounds and hypnotic visuals from London-based electronic duo Raime, in the atmospheric surroundings of LSO St Luke’s – a deconsecrated 18th-century church.

This special audiovisual show is Raime's first London appearance since the release of their debut album Quarter Turns Over A Living Line – a record which weaves together disparate skeins of sound; atomised elements of industrial music are suspended alongside spare vestiges of jungle's rhythmic dynamism, together with hints of doom metal, techno, modern composition and dub.

The visual element of the set, shot by Dakus Films in collaboration with Raime, features Portuguese dancer Romeu Runa. The video was shot in super slow motion in an enormous disused ironworks factory on the outskirts of Lisbon and then edited for the arresting film that unfurls behind the duo as they perform.

‘Its pleasures are those of the violent hollowing out of dancefloor forms, of the exhaustion that waits at the end of the night … they've made something deeply essential for the moment’ The Wire

‘It's dark and it's challenging, but that's precisely why it works’ Guardian

Krush Summer Style. Fairmont, Jim Stanton - Horse Meat Disco & Nikos. Saturday, June 1st. @ Basing House, 25 Kingsland Road, Shoreditch, E28AA, 10pm - 4am

Is it techno? Is it electro? Or even some new age disco music? Whatever the label Fairmonts sound is distinct, instantly likeable and very much forward thinking.
There was a time when one would either play house or techno or disco; and even though crossover is quite common nowadays there's still not that many artists who can preen on having bridged the chasm between styles.
Fairmont comes from a techno background, with releases on Berlin's finest (and now legendary) Sender records (as Jake Fairley) but it wasn't till that Border Community golden record, Gazebo/Gazele, that Jake discovered he could do so much more. His latest album on Canada's My Favorite Robot met critical acclaim on all corners of the spectrum of electronic music and put him on the spot light.
Fairmont plays live; a real live show and he must be heard, cos like him you haven't heard much

Also, on the menu, we have Jim Stanton of the Horse Meat Disco power house, who was with us from the very beginning. Remember the very first Krush in Shoreditch a couple of years ago? Jim is a skilled dj with international reputation yet his humility is his greatest virtue; that and the ability to blow your socks off with his unimmitable Djing skills and musical styling

Last, but not least, is our very own Nikos, an artist who's brave enough to call himself a DJ; and there's no way you can argue with that. Catch him live cos podcast, he may do, but its nothing like the real thing

Future Disco. Benoit & Sergio, Juan Maclean. Saturday, June 1st. @ Corsica Studios, 5 Elephant Road, London, SE17 1LB, 10pm - 6am

Night Moves. Mick Welch + Jane Fitz & Jade Seatle. Saturday, June 1st. @ at a secret location, 9pm - 4am

Summer is coming.... must be time for another NIGHT MOVES

One of the things we've set out to do at NIGHT MOVES is put quality first - booking guests because of what they can do, not who they are nor the crowd they will bring in.

In Jenifa Mayanja, Hakim Murphy and DJ Spider, we brought in three US DJs who had never played in Europe before. 2Deep Soul hadn't ever played live in England, while it had been three years since XDB exposed London to the kind of beating he gave the NM floor.

For our summer party we agreed we wanted a homegrown talent this time, and that meant a huge list of of brilliant, yet stupidly underbooked, DJs to choose from. After the vibe and musical expression NIGHT MOVES experienced at our first birthday we knew we wanted someone who could also effortlessly weave between house and techno and electro and beyond. Oddly, we both said the same person at the same time.

Mick Welch first came onto our radar several years ago via Estimulo's essential internet radio show. A regular guest, Mick's mixes stand out for their depth of style and selection. Last year he did a mix for Jane's weekly radio show too. Then there are the releases on his own Elecktrosouls label, which we've played at NM, and feature Mick's productions as well as a mighty choice of artists. And back in December 2DeepSoul previewed Mick's new release on their own Inner Shift label exclusively at NM, which is out soon.

We count so many talented DJs among our friends, and we really hope to be able to bring them all to NM at some point. Right now though, we're very happy to start the homegrown ball rolling with Mick Welch.

Get ready...

Reviveher Hackney Wick Loft Party. Stefan Goldmann - Live, Local Talk Records + Hnny. Saturday, June 1st. @ Mother Studios, Queens Yard; White Post Lane; Hackney Wick; London E9 5EN, 10pm - 5am

ReviveHER have a special policy when it comes to bookings. Whether its forgotten legends or future heroes we always try to bring you artists with a story to tell, artists who take risks, who shun the normal or mundane and transport the music we love to places it's never been before. So on June 1st, as we take you back to our sacred loft space Mother Studios: the cosmic attic in the steepled apex of an old Victorian chocolate factory, high above Hackney Wick, we give you an artist who truly lives up to that word. Stefan Goldmann - Live.

Stefan Goldman (Macro / Perlon / Innervisions / Ovum / Classic)

With huge releases on house, techno and minimal heavyweight labels like Innervisions, Perlon, Ovum and Classic Recordings back in the 00's, Goldmann helped shape and reinvent the sound of dance floors from his native Berlin to the rest of the world. You don't need to be reminded how fresh ‘Blood’ sounded, or how the stripped down groove of 'Sleepy Hollow' took the classic Detroit sound and gave it a spin that breathed new life into a genre. A regular part of Berlin institution Berghain throughout its life as artist and journalist, Stefan has also worked with many festivals and institutions outside of the club circuit such as Nationaltheater Mannheim, Honen-In Temple, BASF Kulturprogramm and Villa Kamogawa

So his legend credentials are unimpeachable, but it's this taste for high-concept art pieces and pursuit of the musically avant-garde that really make him perfect for ReviveHER. Stretching the meaning of “sample” to its very boundaries, last year’s 17:50 album saw him interrogate Western tonal systems by pitch-bending every single note on the record and create a piece of music with a mood unlike anything we had heard before. It was bold and some called the album genius, more called it madness, but as we all know the line between is often blurred and at ReviveHER we loved it. Another example - Reversing the process of digitalization in his remix of “Grand Hemiola”. Stefan has always been a dedicated agent of change, creating his uniquely own version of contemporary music, neither constrained by the pitfalls of academism nor those of electronic club music functionality.

His live performance in ReviveHER's magical loft coincides with the release of Live At Honen-In Temple, a live album recorded in front of a handful of observers at the titular holy site in Kyoto last year. The performance, conducted “while daylight faded into the dark of night”, was a beautiful cacophony of sometimes beatless, microtonal soundscapes, with a few old familiars thrown in and a load of previously unreleased material.

When he hits the ReviveHER loft for his first London performance in over two years (and even longer since he played here live), he will be visiting a holy temple of a different kind; one where the worshipers dance under lasers and balloons, where he is joined by fellow clergy who studied his work in their formative years and now preach a gospel of classic and garage house.

Local Talk Records (Sweden) aka Mad Mats & Tooli

Those clergymen are Local Talk records head honchos Mad Mats and Tooli and their label’s runaway producer HNNY. Local Talk is in many ways the perfect antithesis of Goldmann's own label Macro, home to 5 of his albums and a roster that includes the likes of Elektro Guzzi and Raudive (Oliver Ho) to artists with a long track record such as Patrick Cowley, Peter Kruder and Pete Namlook. Where Macro is about painstaking invention, Local Talk is about the joy and liberation of quick release house influenced by decadent, classic house and the deep / garage house revival and its willfully disposable dancefloor madness. With this trademark sound, green and white artwork and insane release schedule, it has become one of the most in demand labels around.

Continuing the religious theme, it's more than fair to say that Mad Mats and Tooli themselves, are the undisputed gods of Nordic house; Sweden’s answer to Feel My Bicep and party DJs to the very core. Mad Mats a real DJ’s DJ (RH box ticked), has been voted Sweden’s best DJ several times earning him global tour dates before Local Talk was even born. Tooli rose to fame when he started the highly successful website and club 24:HRS, becoming one of the busiest promoters and DJs In Stockholm. Together they form an unbeatable DJ alliance and their throwback to euphoria will be sure to induce fervent belief across the floor and quite possibly bring the rapture forward by a millennium or two anywhere they go.

HNNY (Local Talk / Studio Barnhus / Let’s Play House)

Joining them will be the high priest in waiting HNNY, whose last Local Talk record “Yearning” hit number 1 on the Juno chart and marked him out as a future hero nearing his rightful status. His production versatility can be seen on his debut release on the equally hip Studio Barnhus label – a hypnotic Mariah Carey edit, as well as last year’s Steve Reich edit - Nagoya Marimba, not to mention the current Brandy and Monica edit “Boy” on a white label doing the rounds. In the booth HNNY destroys dancefloors with his expertly mixed balance of underground club music new and old, with fond memories of the old school and a steady gaze set on the future of dance music.

Following an incredible showcase of electronic talent at Corsica Studios, the good ship ReviveHER returns to its spiritual home in Hackney Wick to deliver a night of ecstacy of heavenly proportion. The Mother Studios loft will be transformed, as always, in to our own fictional “house” of God. Pilgrims in pursuit of this magical journey are advised to arrive promptly for the evening’s mass ahead. Our nightspot will be wreathed in décor quite unlike any other musical shrine. Experienced worshipers will of course know what to expect. With our messiahs Stefan Goldmann, Local Talk’s Mad Mats & Tooli and HNNY at the altar ready to liberate our fair maiden of the night and pilgrimaging ReviveHERs, we’re sure to reach Seventh heaven. The sky will once again see the light, and we can’t wait to see you there.

Superfreq. Mr.C Smell The Coffee Album Tour pt 2. Saturday, June 1st. @ Paramount, Centre Point, 103 New Oxford Street, W1, 11pm - 7am

Thanks to those that came to the first of our 2 Smell The Coffee tour events, our 4th of May party was yet another roaring success, thank you to Maayan Nidam & Raymundo Rodriguez for being such magnificent guests & especially to you for making the atmosphere what it was, your rock.

For part 2 of the Smell The Coffee tour, we feature an all Superfreq label artist line up & it really couldn't be any stronger with 2 debut Superfreq appearances. First we welcome along the legendary Brett Johnson. Brett hails from Dallas Texas from where he's taken his unmistakeable sound around the globe. Since Brett started releasing music in the late 90's, he's been at the forefront of electronic dance music & was one of the innovators of the very sound that we listen to today. When most people were playing organic sounding house & tech house, Brett was leading the way with a pure electronic sound that was edgy & forward thinking yet very musical. Brett's incredible productions have been released on some huge labels as well as some of the more underground labels out there, which include Aesoteric, Seasons, H-Phen, Classic, Magnet, Scenic, Masilla Valley Madness, Séparé, Brique Rouge, Lazy Days, Phreakin, Freerange, Resopal, Hudd Tracks, Frankie, Cynosure, STIR15, .dotbleep, Full Flavour Music & Bang The Box & this year Brett's already released some killer music on Visionquest & Culprit records & has his debut release for Superfreq, which he's recorded with Motor City Soul & includes sick remixes from both himself & the legendary Satoshi Tomiie, due for release on June 8th. Brett's music has been tearing apart Superfreq dance floors since we started throwing events 11 years ago with hits such as Temptations & Lies & Stucco Homes.
As a DJ, Brett seamlessly drifts from deep house to acid to tech house to techno & all with his unmistakeable, electronic signature, yet with more soul & funk than you'll here in most more organic sounding dance tracks.

For our 2nd guest we welcome along the extremely prolific Derek Marin. A drummer turned techno producer, Derek has performed & collaborated with some of the biggest artists in electronic music world like Andrew Fletcher of Depeche Mode, our very own Mr. C, Terry Francis, Carl Craig, Adam X & the Yeah Yeah Yeahs just for starters. His list of works is reaching an uncountable number. Derek is best known for his productions on labels Plastic City, Thoughtless Music & Swag, plus many others like Red Menace, Matter/:form, Surreal, Poodle, Lap Dance, Rhythmic, Sentient Sound, Cove, Preset, Subtrack, Team & Smut. Marin also produces under the monikers Sideview, Platonik, Modest D & many others. In 2004, he established his own imprint, Faucet Music & is now heading the New York via Detroit techno label Subtrak. We won't even go there with all the remixes this man has done & we eagerly await his debut EP for the Superfreq label, which will be released in September with remixes from Alexi Delano & our very own Luke vB.
As a DJ, Derek plays the sexiest of house & tech house, always innovative with his keen forward thinking eye always firmly on the dance floor.

Of course these 2 incredible guests join Mr.C who's would tour has kicked off to an amazing start & Luke vB for yet another night of adult partying high up in the clouds.

In Superfreq label news, Joint Custody's Lights & Buttons EP is now available on vinyl at all quality specialist outlets & is released digitally on the 20th May. Mr.C's Smell The Coffee album is also available digitally & hard copies of the CD are available exclusively at Smell The Coffee tour events & as previously mentioned, the Brett Johnson & Motor City Soul EP, Ile De Sables, will be available digitally available on the 8th of June.
All Superfreq releases are available here: http://www.beatport.com/label/superfreq/31694

As always, we can't wait to see you all on the 1st of June & until then, be well.

Hugs from Superfreq HQ.

In 2000, Andy Vaz has released his own material. At first he started his Sound Variation [-] series. A set of 10 conceptual releases, where all works were defined by the criteria of re-use, recycling of same instrumentations, within the context of boundless compositional approaches. Free Jazz was the teacher.

Next to the series Andy Vaz also started putting out minimal techno & deep house dance material. Music, that is focused on the Groove and is based on his rich experiences as an internationally rewarded Live Act. Known for extended two hour dance live-sets to more abstract listening performances Andy proves to be diverse and suitable in various musical contexts.

In march 2007 Vaz launched a new label called “YORE”, which will focus on the authentic old school Detroit & Chicago House Sound with original artists such as Rick Wade, Chez Damier, Terrence Dixon, Todd Sines, Alton Miller and others, presenting a new platform for these artists as well as for himself, to ensure spreading his musical visions further to new audiences. Cocoon. Frank Lorber, Christian Burkhardt (live), Ilario Alicante. Friday, June 7th. @ at a secret location, 10pm - 6am

‘Jose Cuervo Presents…’ is set to host iconic Ibiza club night COCOON on Friday 7th June 2013, completing an unmissable weekend of warehouse parties that will also see Skepta and Joker headline on Saturday 8th June.
Frank Lorber, Christian Burkhardt and Ilario Alicante have been selected by electronic music pioneer and Cocoon founder Sven Vath to bring a taste of what to expect in Ibiza as the season approaches for the world renowned house and techno night.

At the tender age of 16, Frank Lorber discovered his passion for electronic music and promised his mother he would start an apprenticeship if only she bought him two record players and a mixer. This apprenticeship became a thing of the past when he started to dedicate himself entirely to music. In 1993 he had his first date abroad and after that he moved steadily to the top, becoming one of the mainstays of the Cocoon family.

Christian Burkhardt is an artist truly absorbed with the range of sonic possibilities. Not content with existing within the realms of house and techno, he is a producer determined to further stretch its limits with his signature sound. Christian is a native of Heidelberg, Germany, and along with the likes of Reboot, Johnny D, Markus Fix and Ray Okpara – all from the country’s South West quarter – he has helped carve out a niche revolution within house and techno that has influenced the global electronic music community nearly as much as Detroit, Chicago, London and Berlin have in their respective years of glory.
Hailing from Italy, Ilario Alicante is considered one of the major new talents on the scene. His twist of Latin American rhythms with house and techno gives him a distinct and organic sound that has taken him across the major clubs in Europe as well as South America, all at the ripe age of 22.

‘Jose Cuervo Presents…’ will give music lovers the chance to experience sets from a selection of pioneering electronic and live acts while enjoying ice cold Jose Cuervo Tequila shots from a full Jose Cuervo Tequila bar. Mixologists will be on hand to create the tantalising Jose Cuervo drinks that will be served throughout the venue for the perfect accompaniment to the night.

"With Leftfield, Booka Shade, UNKLE and James Zabiela joining Detroit luminaries Kevin Saunderson, Derrick May and Juan Atkins and underground treasures like No Artificial Colours, Krystal Klear and Boddika, Playground Festival will reach new heights of hysteria when it sets up shop in June. Borrowing as much from Sonar as Bloc Festival to inform its booking policy, headline slots from Gary Numan and Squarepusher will touch similar ground to the spectacle committed by Amon Tobin and his ISAM Live series recently, with 3D mapping visuals and an LED construction set, in a venue more than equipped to handle it... Adding to that, there'll be nobody knocking on The Academy door asking for noise to be kept down, ensuring the event is one London festival where the volume hits all the necessary levels. This playground is for adults only." DJ Mag

This year’s Playground Festival brings together many of the godfathers/ innovators of house, techno and electro music alongside those making a significant rise on current underground scene to create a truly retrospective festival experience. Headliners LEFTFIELD, SQUAREPUSHER, GARY NUMAN, DIGITALISM, VITALIC and UNKLE’s JAMES LAVELLE, will be joined by a whole host of upcoming and respected talent as they all play under one roof at Brixton Academy on the 7th – 8th June.

Unparalleled in their status as one of the UK’s biggest electronic acts of all time, LEFTFIELD, join the Friday leg of the festival with a rare electronic dj performance. Their seminal debut album ‘Leftism’ went platinum within a number of months of its 1995 release and earned a Mercury Music prize nomination later that year. The album is looked upon as a classic is regularly mentioned in music polls including Q Magazine that placed it 8th in their list of ‘The Greatest Albums Of All Time’.

While the Saturday, will be topped by contemporary experimental producer SQUAREPUSHER. This producer has redefined the spectacle of live performances. Using a giant screen, stage board and head-mask comprised of nothing but choreographed LEDs, Squarepusher’s live show now mirrors the incredible attention to detail he brings to his music, as well as highlighting the incredible technology it takes to be one of the world’s best producers.

Joining the list on the Saturday night will be legendary songwriter and innovator to electronic music GARY NUMAN. Since his groundbreaking work and named as one of the figureheads of the electronic movement in the late 70s and early 80s, Gary Numan has been a pioneer of forward-thinking electronic music and a living legend to the UK’s musical history. Since the release of his breakthrough track ‘Cars’ in 1979, Numan has gone on to have a glittering career that still holds strong today. With every passing year, Gary Numan has kept true to himself by breaking barriers and creating diverse and interesting electronic music that wins him new fans every day.

Topping Friday’s bill will be the electronic duo DIGITALISM, making a very rare LIVE performance at Brixton Academy. Known for their breakthrough single ‘Pogo’, Digitalism have been a huge driving force in underground electronic music and their critically acclaimed live show is all part of why we wanted them at the top of the bill.

Joining Digitalism on the Friday will one of the founding members of alternative electronic duo UNKLE, JAMES LAVELLE is a true staple of the UK’s music scene. Forming the group, alongside DJ Shadow, in 1996, UNKLE are regarded as one of the most groundbreaking electronic groups the world has ever seen with their debut album ‘Psyence Fiction’ regularly brought up as one of the greatest albums of all time.

French techno will also get its representation at this year’s festival with an incredible live performance from one of the country’s most formidable producers VITALIC. Since the release of his debut album ‘OK Cowboy’, Vitalic has proven to be one of the world’s leading beatmakers on the techno scene. From his early debut work with ‘La Rock 01’ to his current heavyweight album ‘Rave Age’, Vitalic has never failed to bring the party atmosphere everywhere he goes and earned his place on this year’s bill.

As well as all the seminal talent joining us at this year’s Playground Festival, we will also be graced with the presence of groundbreaking electronic duo THE ORB with a full LIVE set. Since the release of their incredible debut album ‘Adventures Beyond The Ultraworld’ more than twenty years ago, The Orb have been one of the most innovative and awe-inspiring electronic outfit in recent times. The pair are currently working on a second collaborative album with dub legend Lee Scratch Perry and rumours have began to fly over a new tag-team with electronic hero and fellow Playground Festival performer John Foxx. Needless to say, The Orb’s performance will definitely come with surprises.

Joining Vitalic and Gary on the Saturday will be two of the founding fathers of the Detroit house and techno scene, DERRICK MAY and KEVIN SAUNDERSON who together reinvented the house sound in the 80s and have gone on to be two of the most respected tastemakers on the scene today.

We are also serving up German house duo BOOKA SHADE, who have been a staple of the world’s clubbing consciousness for more than a decade. Since the early 2000s, Booka Shade have been creating and pushing their sound through their self-conceived label Get Physical, resulting in four critically acclaimed albums with numerous singles and remixes to boot. After a 3 year absence, we welcome BOOKA SHADE back onto the UK live seen with open arms.

KAVINSKY will also be bringing his unique brand of 80s infused electro to the festival on the Friday night. After all the hype Kavinsky received from his contribution to the ‘Drive’ soundtrack, the producer finally released his debut album ‘Outrun’ this year. A retrospective look at what the producer has managed to achieve since his career began. While his fellow countrymen CASSIUS will join the French producer in what can only become a great union in the sounds of old and new French productions. Known for their anthems ‘Cassius 1999’ and ‘Feeling For You’, Cassius’ inclusion on this bill will bring a cool dose of electro nostalgia to this year’s festivities.

JAMES ZABIELA also takes the reigns on the Friday night and has been one of the UK’s most praised DJs over the last decade. As a longstanding resident to the Renaissance label, Zabiela’s mixes and DJ sets are regarded amongst the highest and have seen this DJ progress to one of the highest names on today’s underground electronic music scene.

MODEL 500 has been the most successful pseudonym of American producer and originator of the Detroit techno scene, JUAN ATKINS. Atkins first began working as Model 500 in the mid 80s and went on to create the now legendary Metroplex label, home to the likes of Derrick May and Kevin Saunderson, who will of course be joining us on the Saturday.

We complete the top of Saturday’s line up billing with some of the most inspiring and influential artists in the world. Including German-born PANTHA DU PRINCE, a staple of Europe’s ambient techno scene whose new collaborative album with The Bell Laboratory ‘Elements Of Light’ is looking to be one of this year’s most anticipated new releases. JOHN FOXX & THE MATHS, the new project from original ULTRAVOX vocalist, John Foxx, joins him on the second day. This new project has seen a reinvention of John Foxx as he looks to continue the ground he covered with Ultravox, and bring it hurtling into the new millennium.

Also added to Saturday’s bill will be on of the founding members of electronic pioneers Kraftwerk, WOLFGANG FLUR. Flur left in the group in the mid 80s to pursue other projects that have seen the producer create a number of unique and diverse productions right up to the present day.

The Playground Festival will also host a huge array of talent across both nights including dance music royalty X-PRESS 2, talented DJ and producer BODDIKA, championed producer of the Numbers label DEADBOY, nostalgic RnB reinventor KRYSTAL KLEAR, ethereal beat producer LAPALUX and North American beatmaker TOKIMONSTA.

With NATHAN FAKE, LUKE VIBERT, CRAIG RICHARDS, LUKE SOLOMON, OM UNIT, NO ARTIFICIAL COLOURS, OLUGBENGA, WILDKATS, WHYT NOYZ, MOLO, SEVERINO, DAN BEAUMONT, LUKE UNABOMBER, FANTASTIC MR. FOX, RYAN HEMSWORTH, DAKTYL, CHARLIE TRAPLIN, MAXX BAER and TEMPLA opening the festival for us across both days, the event promises to kick start the summer off with a bang (or beat?).

Warm. Agoria. Friday, June 7th. @ Plastic People, 147-149 Curtain Road, EC2A 3QE, 10pm - 5am

Sébastien Devaud, aka Agoria, entered the world of electronic dance music at a peculiar moment in time. Unlike the first generation of techno producers, he’s too young to have been actively listening to early 80’s electronic pop by groups such as Depeche Mode or New Order. But unlike younger DJs and musicians, he’s been exposed to house and techno more or less since the start of these genres.

Living in rural France, Agoria first got hooked to electronic music through listening to Kevin Saunderson’s classic
“Good Life” on the local radio as a twelve-year-old kid in 1988. He was so impressed by the Inner City hit that he
spent the following afternoons washing his neighbours’ cars to earn enough money to buy his first 12´. His next
revelation came a few years later when one of the first DJ sets he experienced happened to be from Jeff Mills in
nearby Lyon. « It was the first time that I saw a DJ using three turntables and a drum machine. He really created
something completely new rather that just playing records. And the way he moved, his precision and speed, impressed me. »

Agoria started out as a DJ himself, quickly followed by organizing his own parties together with a group of friends (who also gave Séb Devaud his artist moniker loosely named after Agora – the title of their party series, meaning
“meeting place” in ancient Greek). He started producing and releasing his own tracks in 1999 and first gained international recognition with a series of 12´s on Pias Recordings in 2002, which were followed by the acclaimed album Blossom a year later. Since then, Agoria has released two more long-players The Green Armchair (2006) and soundtrack Go Fast (2008), all showcasing Agoria’s talent for creating deep, stripped-back, melodic, techno tracks. In addition Agoria has compiled three mix-cds that present his unique ability in pairing tracks of very different origins and layering them in creative, sometimes even awe-inspiring ways. Deservedly so, Resident Advisor named his contribution to the At The Controls series from 2007 as one of the best mix-cds
of the past decade.

Apart from his own work as a DJ and producer, Sébastien Devaud has also helped to establish Nuits Sonores, an ambitious electronic and indie event that takes place all over the city of Lyon every Spring and has, over the last ten years, become one of the best European festivals. Another important contribution has been the start of InFiné in 2006, a label that Devaud founded together with his friends Alexandre Cazac and Yannick Matray. InFiné is a label that follows no rules, shies away from trends and features young, new talents, from various parts of the world. Its releases – from Francesco Tristano’s piano treatments to Danton Eeprom’s sensual productions or Bachar Mar-Khalifé’s dramatic arrangements – continue to surprise and have made InFiné a platform for new music that always challenges and excites it’s listeners.
