Need2soul presents. Theo Parrish x Joe Claussell x Ron Trent. Was On Sunday, May 5th. @ Oval Space, 29 - 32 The Oval, London, E2 9DY, 4pm - 12am

Bringing it for a special Bank Holiday weekend party, Need2soul hosts a triple threat of US house legends; Detroit meets New York via Chicago as heavyweights Theo Parrish, Joe Claussell and Ron Trent play at East London venue Oval Space for a one-off all-day Need2Soul main event.

Heavily involved in Detroit’s underground music scene, Theo Parrish helped to bring dormant dance classics back to life amongst local DJs – and now he brings the Detroit sound direct to Need2Soul. Head of the Sound Signature label, a prolific producer and remixer, and an in-demand DJ, he works hard to connecting his audience to the music. His unforgettable track ‘Falling Up’ is so iconic it has recently been remastered and reissued, featuring the infamous Carl Craig remix. Witness Theo Parrish bringing the magic with a unique and dynamic set.

DJ, producer and label-head Joe Claussell is a figurehead of the New York dance scene. One third of the legendary Body & SOUL house party – trio alongside François K and Danny Krivit – he is jointly responsible for some of the best house and disco sounds NYC has heard, and some of the most memorable parties. He plays all over the world to an adoring audience of discerning house heads, and is also an acclaimed musician. He’ll enjoy his set almost as much as you – watch him work the DJ booth!

After selling out the February Need2Soul event, Ron Trent returns to complete this outstanding lineup in May. His well-loved combination of soul, funk and world music threaded seamlessly with deep house are an instant dancefloor hit. A perennial presence in music since the early 1990s, Chicago’s Ron Trent pulls no punches! Co-founder – alongside Chez Damier – of Prescription Records, Ron Trent is widely considered to be one of the most influential names in the Chicago house scene.

Need2Soul have been hosting parties since 2004 – and each one surpasses the last. Dedicated purveyors of raw house, disco, techno, jazz, soul and more, London’s Need2Soul has an uncompromising and underground, music-first approach that was at first inspired by legendary New York Sunday party Body & SOUL, and has since produced unforgettable deep house parties. and so for Bank Holiday Sunday May 5th Need2Soul present a very special lineup: Theo Parrish x Joe Claussell x Ron Trent.

East London venue Oval Space has been home to huge events and artist appearances, including the return of DJ Harvey, and parties featuring Jamie XX, Joy Orbison, Dirtybird and not to mention the Need2Soul presents Body & Soul event last year. Now Need2Soul returns to Oval Space in the heart of Bethnal Green for a Bank Holiday treat featuring the skills and sounds of three of the biggest and well-respected artists from the history of house music.

Need2Soul presents a truly memorable all-day-long event as Theo Parrish, Joe Claussell and Ron Trent keep you moving all day long! A very special bank holiday day-time special, Sunday May 5 is one for all the quality underground house-hungry clubbers and everyone in between to party to one of the most superior soundtracks in town.

Fuse MAY Bank Holiday Rave. Valentino Kanzyani, Enzo Siragusa, Seb Zito, Samuel Bellis. Was On Sunday, May 5th. @ Village Underground, 54 Holywell Lane, London, EC2A 3PQ, 2pm - midnight

It’s been a busy few months for us at FUSE and things are only going to get busier as we kick off FUSE Ibiza at Sankeys on Wednesday 29th May.

Before we get started in Ibiza, we’re throwing a 10-hour Bank Holiday special on Sunday 5th May with the likes of Valentino Kanzyani, chief resident Enzo Siragusa and FUSE DJ’s Seb Zito and Samuel Bellis.

In a FUSE first, we’re bringing DJ/producer and “Slovenian founding father of techno”, Valentino Kanzyani, to Village Underground. A master of vinyl behind the decks, Valentino has put in the hours to perfect his craft before launching his Jesus Loves You label in 2005 and his debut album, Love & Gratitude.

What would a FUSE Bank Holiday Rave be without our main man, Enzo Siragusa? Just before he heads up to Manchester to play the Final Chapter at Sankeys Manchester, Enzo will be spinning at FUSE and you can expect to hear some of the tunes he’s been working on in his studio recently.

Joining Valentino and Enzo is FUSE resident, Seb Zito, who features on Fusic Volume 2, alongside Enzo, Liefko and Rich NxT. Now available on Beatport, you can have a listen and buy it here: http://www.beatport.com/#release/fusic-volume-2/1067466.

Seb has been very busy of late with recent dates in Italy, Zurich, Munich and more, but he returns to FUSE following his set last month at the FUSE London 2nd Birthday – and what a birthday it was.

Completing this month’s line-up is friend of FUSE, Samuel Bellis, who has enjoyed a number of sets in and around London recently, playing at fabric and Undersound in the last few months. Samuel is a very promising producer who has been making some great music both solo and together with Antony Difrancesco. Visit his SoundCloud page for a preview of his latest tracks: www.soundcloud.com/samuel-bellis

We look forward to seeing you on Sunday 5 May for what is sure to be one serious party.

You Are WE. James Teej (Last Night On Earth). Was On Sunday, May 5th. @ at a secret location, 4pm - 2am

JAMES TEEJ (Last Night On Earth)
Sandeman & Dickie (WILDKATS)
Playset- Ashley Wild & Tom Roberts (Nurvous)
Ollie Mundy

On May 5th bank holiday Sunday You Are We are proud to welcome headline DJ James Teej (Last Night On Earth) to London for another day time party like only we know how.

James Teej is a 30 year old Canadian born artist currently residing in Toronto, Canada. In 2008, James began releasing his innovative sound on some of our favorite labels such as Rekids, My Favorite Robot Records, No.19 Music and more. In 2013, Teej is set to drop his second LP “Eight Bit Ocean” on Sasha’s Last Night On Earth imprint. Vocalist, producer, DJ, live act, A&R and collaborator - Teej is a genuine electronic music polymath and, as such, his material is imbued with a real sense of craftsmanship where every detail has its true place and meaning. It’s this meticulous DIY attitude to every aspect of his art that bleeds through ‘Eight Bit Ocean’. Constantly pushing sonic boundaries, all the while exploring the deepest recesses of house and techno, Jamesʼ performance at You Are We on the 5th of May is an exciting prospect indeed.

Resident’s Sandeman & Dickie (AKA Wildkats) and Ashley Wild & Tom Roberts (Playset) continue the line up. As two thirds of production trio Wildkats, Sandeman & Dickie have continued to make their mark on the music scene this year with a string of high profile performances around the world as well as multiple acclaimed releases and remixes. As an individual artist Ashley Wild continues to make waves on the electronic music scene both as a DJ and a producer. Recently Ashley has added to this success with a debut release alongside fellow Playset member and You Are We resident Tom Roberts with their superb “Something Missing” out on Nurvous Records.

To complete the line up, after his sets at YAW at Burning Man and Horizons Festival Ollie Mundy makes his London debut for You Are We on the 5th of May, a welcome addition indeed.

Egg 10th Birthday Celebration pt. 2 in conjunction with DC7.

On Saturday May 4th EGG offer a very special and unique headline set from the legendary Dubfire who is joined by Uto Karem, Shaded live and Luca C & Brigante.

Grammy-winning recording artist Dubfire is renowned for his seamless DJ sets, groundbreaking music, and his innovative label, SCI+TEC. Widely recognized as one of electronic music’s most versatile artists, Dubfire initially brought a pioneering sound to the masses during his days as one-half of the distinguished DJ & production duo Deep Dish, which led to a catalogue of timeless dance classics, a Grammy for remixing Dido’s “Thank You,” and numerous international awards to their credit.

Most recently, Dubfire decamped to Barcelona where he established a studio, an international office for The Bullitt Agency (which he co-owns) and created a convenient jump-off point for frequent trips to Ibiza where he is a fixture at the White Isle’s most exceptional outings - Cocoon, Carl Cox’s Revolution, Circoloco and most recently, Richie Hawtin's ENTER.

Next up, Uto Karem in just a short period of time has produced hit after hit with forward thinking dance tracks that have fast become staples for DJs everywhere. As well as being an in-demand remixer, DJ and producer, Uto also runs his own Agile Recordings imprint on which he explores deep techno rhythms and highly addictive baselines, brimming with energy and groove.

Finally, Luca C & Brigante is a collaborative project born in London in December 2009 over the love of love, glaring stars, crushing waves and analogue synths. After remixing Ali Love and releasing the sought after Double Drop edits EP (an effort to shine a light on some glorious Italian songwriting of the late 70's) LUCA C & BRIGANTE signed to Southern Fried Records and relocated to the blissful island of Ibiza where they began production on their debut album.

This is one massive party not to be missed!

Also known as the hard hitting techno maestro Maetrik, Maceo Plex reserves his birth name for his softer, more fun edged electronic outpourings and it’s as the latter that on this night he makes a return to Farringdon, hot off the back of his latest edition of !K7’s DJ Kicks. Joining him in Room One is Craig Richards and Huxley, whose initial underground success as a garage producer has transcended to some deeper, house based sounds notably heard on his releases for Hypercolour and Rinse.

Bristol beat maker, Eats Everything kicks off a four date party series called Edible this May with their second outing going especially wild in Room Two this weekend. Expect ballsy house and techno from the Edible curator himself and special guests T. Williams, William Kouam Djoko and Rush Hour’s in demand live act, Tom Trago.

Terry Francis comes together with long time compatriot Eddie Richards, to host his ‘Demo’ party banner in Room Three, giving the spotlight to One Records signing, Jordan Peak.

Just For You. Cassy, Joy Orbison, Even Tuell. Was On Saturday, May 4th. @ Oval Space, 29 - 32 The Oval, London, E2 9DY, 10pm - 6am

Black Atlantic, in conjunction with Hinge Finger, present the second in a series of events curated by Joy Orbison under the working title of ‘Just For You’.

At the sold out launch of the series in February, Hessle Audio boss Ben UFO, NYC party people Mister Saturday Night and Blackest Ever Black’s Raime all set the tone for what’s to come.

The next event in the series plays host to a rare pairing, with Panorama Bar regular Cassy playing alongside Joy Orbison, with support from Workshop’s Even Tuell and The Trilogy Tapes’ Will Bankhead.

With new releases due on both Hinge Finger and Sunklo in the coming months, 2013 promises to be another strong year for the producer who helped redefine a sound that began as an obscure sub-set of house music and has become one of the most dominant genres of the last few years. Whilst many of his peers choose to push themselves into the mainstream, JO chooses a very different path - preferring to focus on quality not quantity, substance over style.

As he settles into his London residency for 2013 expect yet more eclectic sets as he explores the freedom afforded by this regular session.

As standard, Oval Space now boasts a newly installed (and tweaked) custom D&B rig, acoustic treatments throughout and serious industrial ventilation.

Superfreq. Mr.C Smell The Coffee Album Tour. Was On Saturday, May 4th. @ Paramount, Centre Point, 103 New Oxford Street, W1, 11pm - 7am

Mr.C, Maayan Nidam, Luke vB

Firstly, thank you once again for being your amazing selves at our 6th April Superfreq, that was so much fun, how it keeps on getting better is beyond us. We also hope you're enjoying the slight hint of spring that we currently find in the air with the weather warming a little & some daffodils peeking through.

So it's with great pleasure that we announce our next Superfreq at Paramount, Centre Point, 103 New Oxford Street, London, WC1A 1DD & this event will be super e'special as it's the first of 2 London shows that top & tail Mr.C's Smell The Coffee UK album tour, which takes C though 13 shows around the country.
As you're all aware, Mr.C has been working extremely hard doing promotion for his new album, we can't open a magazine right now without seeing his cheeky grin. He's been putting his album tour together, re-launching the Superfreq label & releasing lots of great new music in 2013. This year alone he's already had his "I'm Gonna Give You Some" EP hit with great critical acclaim, his debut collaboration with Affie Yusuf as Indigo Kidz with a track entitled Special Box which came out last month & his remix of Joint Custody's Lights & Buttons which is in stores on vinyl next week & already doing serious damage on the dance floors, all of this of course on Superfreq, as well as his remix of David Scuba & Mikael Stavöstrand's "Money Dish" on Riff Raff also released last month. On top of all of this, Mr.C's been slaving away on putting together some of the finest parties that both London & LA have seen in a long time. His Smell The Coffee album will be available on Beatport, iTunes, Spotify, Amazon & all good digital download distributors from the 22nd of April. The get a sneak preview of snippets of the album tracks, go here: https://soundcloud.com/superfreq/sets/sfdlp001-mrc-smell-the-coffee-lp
Also check out Mr.C's seriously dark new podcast Freq 12 here: https://soundcloud.com/mrcsuperfreq/freq12
Mr.C will be playing a special extended 3 hour set for this party.

For this extremely special event we do of course have to have an extremely special guest, so it's with great pleasure that we announce Superfreq London's debut appearance of amazing Maayan Nidam.
Maayan wowed the Los Angeles Freqs when she played for Superfreq L.A over 2 years ago & it's taken up this long to get this amazing DJ & producer to London. Mr.C says her set at Get Lost in Miami last month was one of the best he heard at WMC.
Since she began DJing and producing in 1999, Maayan has racked up an impressive discography. As Miss Fitz, she has released EPs on Raum Musik, Freak n' Chic, Contexterrior and Circus Company; she also travels in disguise as Laverne Radix, with singles for Oslo's Love Letters from Oslo. In 2009 Maayan released her debut release under her own name: "Night Long" on Japanese label Power Shovel, an intimate album woven together out of recordings of Cuba's best contemporary instrumentalists that later on that year was followed by an EP on the ever changing Perlon. After this Maayan release her excellent Greatest Tits EP on Wolf & Lamb.

The diversity of Mayaan's sound is no doubt a result of an unusually global upbringing. Born in Tel Aviv, she lived in the Mediterranean city for most of her life, studying multimedia and, following a six-month stay in New York, beginning to DJ bars and small parties. Maayan shapes sound to fit her own singular sensibilities—a strategy that has resulted in a significant and growing body of recorded work and a reputation as a talented, versatile DJ who unerringly takes listeners to special, unexpected places. It's impossible to reduce Maayan's productions and DJ sets to a single sound, but certain qualities prevail: a loping, swinging, hips-and-ass-friendly sense of the groove; a bubbling sense of funk; a keen sense of timbre and tone color, with a wooly low end and crystalline highs. It's also possible to discern a certain sense of humor, as well—nothing over the top, simply the occasional wink or sly grin as a riff steps out and takes its star turn. Like the best musicians, Maayan's work is all about communication. No wonder she understand the dance floor so well.

Of course Superfreq partner & resident Luke vB will be joining the affray & he too has been extremely busy remixing Mr.C's "I'm Gonna Give You Some" & also "The Chant" by House of 909, "I Like That Freq" by Derek Marin & "Wake Up" from Mr.C's album, all for the Superfreq label, as well as grafting with Richard to bring you all of these amazing events so far this year. It's been well noted by the London Freqs that Luke has seriously raised his game behind the decks since he started producing tracks & has been causing some serious damage to the Superfreq dancefloor.

We love forward to seeing you all at the next Superfreq, May the 4th be with you.

Hugs from Superfreq HQ.

Wax'd. Patrice Scott. Was On Saturday, May 4th. @ Dance Tunnel, 95 Kingsland Road; Dalston; London E8 2PB, 10pm - 5am

Wax’d returns to Dance Tunnel on bank holiday Saturday 4th May with a special extended set from one of our all-time favourite DJs – Detroit’s very own Patrice Scott.

Patrice runs one of the most consistently excellent record labels around, Sistrum Recordings, and, as well as being an outstanding producer, is one of the best DJs we’ve had the privilege of hearing.

When he’s in Europe, Patrice can usually be found spinning at the likes of Panorama Bar and Fabric, so this is a rare chance to see him do his thing in such an intimate space. Patrice will be digging deep into his record collection for us to play an extended three-hour set through Dance Tunnel’s expertly-tuned soundsystem.

We’ve put a limited number of advance tickets on sale, and the rest will be on the door. Those of you who came to our February party with Smallville’s Julius Steinhoff will know it was a roadblock, so we would recommend buying a ticket in advance or coming early on the night.
